We are looking for motivated individuals who are interested in applying advanced algorithms to remote sensing data. Remote Sensing data refers to those collected using infrared imagery (OPIR), hyperspectral imagery (HSI), radar (SAR), full motion video (FMV), Wide Are Motion Imagery (WAMI), and 3D data from a range of sources. Join a team that is developing state of the art algorithms to automatically extract information and \"meaning\" from these and other geospatial data sources.
You must be familiar with various Machine Learning algorithms and adept at using MATLAB, Python, IDL, or other scripting languages and software tools for prototyping, testing, and evaluating algorithms in a team environment. Work closely with domain experts and have access to cutting-edge software to analyze large datasets, create new analytic tools, and address problems of critical National importance. This team is committed to strong collaboration, intellectual rigor, and prototyping \"game-changing\" and \"tip-of-the-spear\" operational solutions for our government sponsors. In most cases, staff also are granted substantial flexibility in their working hours.
On a daily basis you'll likely be doing one or more of the following, as suited to your skills:Developing code in MATLAB, Python, IDL, or other scripting languages for prototyping/testing/evaluating algorithms and software tools in a team environment.White-boarding (i.e., brainstorming and problem solving) with experienced technical staff to develop solutions for challenging problems in the fields listed above, working with a small team to implement/test those solutions, and quantifying their accuracy.Leverage the collective wisdom of the government, academia, industry, and other FFRDCs to create transformational impact, and help advance the field by sharing our research via publications and professional conferences.Engineering, building, and testing new hardware/electronics for advanced imaging applications.Analyzing data from cutting-edge sensor systems including video, infrared, hyperspectral, and others, using data exploitations algorithms and scientific software tools.Performing field experiments to test new sensors and algorithms (e.g., video, radar, and infrared imagery systems). Recent test locations include the White Sands Missile Test Range, Nevada Test Site, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center.
Deep technical knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Artificial Intelligence algorithms.Developing code in MATLAB, Python, IDL, or other scripting languages for prototyping/testing algorithms and software tools in a team environment.BS Degree, TS clearance, and 5 years' related experience, preferably working technical challenges associated with remote sensing, applied statistics, or data mining.
Strong problem-solving skills and capable of working with scientists, analysts, and technical software developers.Domain knowledge of remote sensing modalities (Radar, Hyperspectral/Multispectral, EO/IR, FMV, or WAMI) and a keen desire to learn more about those modalities.Academic or practical experience with mathematics, statistics, and data mining.Development skills with C/C , Java, C#, or other languages are a bonus.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills.
